Staff at Jews For Jesus UK

Stephen Pacht
  UK Director

  Stephen Pacht directs the work of Jews for Jesus in the UK. Stephen, who has previously been in charge of the Paris office, lives in London with his wife Deborah and their four children. Prior to joining the staff at Jews for Jesus, Stephen worked as a chartered Accountant.


Wendy Burton
  Office Manager

  Wendy was born into a believing family in Wales. After Bible College she came to London with her family and worked alongside her husband in an overseas ministry. After he died she worked as a Senior School Secretary until her children were at university. She joined Jews for Jesus in 1993 as Administrator, and set up our first shop and office in the Finchley Road with lots of volunteers.

Julia Pascoe
  Missionary

  London born and bred, Julia first worked with Jews for Jesus as a volunteer, playing her guitar at special events such as our annual Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) service. She joined our staff in 2004.

Tony Metliss
  Office Administrator

  Tony Metliss is from a London Jewish family and became a believer in Jesus in 1982. Tony began working with Jews for Jesus in 2001 after working for a number of years in administration for major companies in London. He is a regular drummer at Jews for Jesus special events.

Avi Snyder
  European Director

  Avi Snyder is the European Director of Jews for Jesus and has been on staff since 1978. In addition to directing the work in Europe, he oversees the work among post-Soviet Jews worldwide. On staff with Jews for Jesus since 1978. Avi and his wife, Ruth, along with their three children, moved to the Ukraine in 1991 to pioneer the Jews for Jesus work there. Though planned months in advance, the actual move came on the heels of the major transition which the former Soviet Union has undergone, giving much more freedom to communicate the gospel. When the Russia and Ukraine branches of Jews for Jesus became fully indigenized in 1998, Avi and his family returned to the United States. Currently he lives in Germany where he oversees the work in Germany as well as in the rest of Europe.

Gwyn Vollans
  Church Coordinator

  Gwyn began working with us as a volunteer and now coordinates our Church Relations.

Irina Volodarska
  Publications Director in Kiev

  Irina Volodarska was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She came to know the Lord in 1991 and since then has been involved in different ministries, mainly focusing on translation of Christian literature and working with disabled children. For several years, Irina did translation work for the Jews for Jesus ministry and then in 2000, joined Jews for Jesus in Kiev as Publications Director. Irina has taken part in several Jews for Jesus evangelism campaigns, including co-leading the Budapest Behold Your God outreach. She now combines the functions of translator, editor, designer and overseer of several European projects.

  Martin Goldsmith is a long-standing and founder member of the European Board of Jews for Jesus.

Susan Perlman
  Associate Executive Director

  Among the many hats that she wears, Susan Perlman she is the first assistant to the Executive Director of Jews for Jesus and is Director of Communications for the organization, overseeing their publications, web and multimedia outreach. From an Orthodox Jewish home in Brooklyn, New York, Susan came to believe in Jesus after a street encounter with a Christian folk singer. She helped to found Jews for Jesus in the early 1970's and helped to shape it into the world's largest Jewish evangelism agency. Susan has been a speaker at Spring Harvest over the years and is a member of the European Board of Jews for Jesus.

Barry & Alison Barnett
  Missionaries

  Barry and Alison were accepted on staff as missionaries in training in 2007. They have both volunteered with Jews for Jesus and been on campaigns in New York and London. Barry was a teacher of Drama and Religious Education for 12 years in London and Essex. He spent two years with YWAM, going on outreach to India and Egypt, as well as spending nine months in intensive Bible study. He has also lived in Israel for a year and a half. He loves Shakespeare, Tottenham Hotspur and his wife, Alison! Alison, who was also a teacher, has just graduated from All Nations Christian College with a degree in Theology. She has lived in Hong Kong for four years. She loves reading more than anything – except Barry! Barry and Alison met at a Jews for Jesus Hanukkah party in 2005 and were married in 2007.


Slavik Meyta
  JFJ Administrator in Kharkov

  Slavik grew up in a Christian Family and came to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour when he was 15. He volunteered for Jews for Jesus, for several years,taking part in the Behold Your God Campaign in Kharkov in 1997. In 2001 Slavik came on staff to support the Missionary team in Kharkov as Administrator and Translator.
